The competition aims to increase economics and finance literacy among university students.

General Rules
  • Proper referencing of any citation, data, ideas, copyrighted material is required

  • No more than one essay can be submitted by each participant

  • The essay may contain up to 1000 words

  • No parts of the work may be copied/borrowed from other works

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation is based on the following criteria

  • Citation from ‘Common Sense Economics’ text and analysis: 20 points

  • Sound economic thinking: 15 points

  • Novelty/innovativeness: 15 points

Evaluation team

The essays are to be evaluated by a professional committee (comprised of teachers/lecturers and advanced students of economics).

  • Essays should be submitted by April 30, 2022

  • Nominated students will be notified by email at the beginning of May

  • The award ceremony will be held in Yerevan at the end of May

  • All nominated works will get certificates during the ceremony

  • The names of the three winners will be announced during the ceremony. The winners will receive certificates and awards.

  • The winning workers will be published on the EFI website,
